Men's Circle

Join our first Men's Circle here at the Mill... David Moore will be holding space on Feb 15th from 8.30pm-10pm

The social dynamics of society have been pushing men towards a subtle, unique type of emotional isolation. Due to a banter culture that often prays on weakness men don’t feel comfortable talking about their lives or how they feel about things that are happening.

For many men it is not safe to be vulnerable, to be held. “Only the strong survive” and “put up or shut up” have been the motto of men for a very long time. This way of being has facilitated a detachment from the trauma that we have experienced, often this detachment extends in to our relationships compromising our ability to truly connect. These traumas manifest in many different ways and have roots in many different experiences. Navigating life with these weights is confusing and stifling.

Often what lies within is a child that really wants to share how it feels, how something made it feel.

The greatest medicine is to share because awareness can develop from our observation of our words.

But who can understand what Men go through, we have a different conditioning to our female counterparts.

This is the beauty of a Mens circle, a Mens circle is exactly as it is defined....Men on an equal standing ready to hear and support their brothers.

Just like King Arthurs round table we are honourable Knights bound by a code of discretion and respect. What we bring to a mens circle is our choice nothing is expected but everything is welcomed. It is an opportunity to share our passions, our fears and our ears.
