About the Event

All the way from the USA Montana, we welcome back for the second time, international guest teacher Adrienne Le Coure.

This is a workshop for anyone interested in deepening their understanding of psychological trauma, how it affects the body and how yoga can be used as a potent method of healing from trauma.

We begin with a thorough introduction to trauma and how it affects the body and mind followed by a 90 minute trauma sensitive yoga practice that will demonstrate a safe atmosphere for healing and emphasizes the concepts of embodied practice, self-empowerment and harnessing the power of regulating your own nervous system.

The information provided will assist yoga teachers interested in working specifically with traumatized populations, and will also support yoga teachers working with general populations that want to cultivate sensitivity and awareness towards students that have been affected by trauma.

This workshop is ALSO for those interested in utilizing yoga as a form of healing from their own trauma and is perfectly suitable for beginners in yoga.

Adrienne LeCoure has worked extensively with highly traumatized populations and has also utilized the healing power of yoga and mindfulness practices to heal her own trauma. She has seen first hand the profound impact of trauma sensitive yoga and is incredibly passionate about this work.

Adrienne's passion for yoga has lead her all over the globe, studying yoga with numerous phenomenal teachers. Adrienne completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Dharmsala, India with Chandra Yoga International followed by a 300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in Mysore, India with Ayur-Yoga Eco Ashram. Throughout her journey with yoga, she has continued to deepen her knowledge and understanding of the practice. In additional she has completed a 3 week immersion at The Sivananda Ashram in Madurai, India, a 2 week Ashtanga Intensive with Ellen Johanson in Sri Lanka, 2 week Ashtanga intensive with Joanna Darlington in Montana, USA and extensive study and experience in trauma sensitive yoga. Adrienne has also assisted 200 hour teacher trainings and has hosted various workshops on the healing power of yoga. She has taught in the United States, Guatemala, Sri Lanka, Greece, UK, Morocco and Spain.

" I am truly honored to be able to share the gifts I have received on the mat with students around the world. My teaching experience has ranged from luxury retreats to refugee camps. I am deeply passionate about utilizing yoga as an instrument to empower marginalized communities and provide healing for physical and emotional wounds. My classes have a strong emphasis on self empowerment, connecting movement with breath and the practice of ever-refining our postures. I believe that our physical practice of yoga is the corridor to the place within each of us that has never been wounded. It is the crucible that dissolves separation and opens us to the divinity in all things. I integrate pranayama and meditation into each practice. "

We can't wait to welcome her back to our beautiful space at The Mill Studios Bolton....
