About the Event

Yin and Pins to nourish the Winter Months of the Water Element

The water element primarily invites us to draw our focus inwards, inviting us to observe the relationships we hold with ourselves. The water element invites self-enquiry, acknowledging our dreams, our emotions and what we reflect on. All aspects of our true self that can never be felt by another.

The wisdom of Water is to flow. Water moves effortlessly and takes the exact form of whatever contains it. A balanced water element is able to move smoothly through day-to-day life with strength, courage and willpower. There’s a sense of flow and ease, and an alignment to one’s purpose or destiny.

There is depth, darkness and mystery to water. The emotion associated with the water element is fear. In appropriate amounts, fear is essential to survival because it enables us to navigate situations with care and caution. When the water element is out of balance, one might experience excess fear, phobias and lack of courage.

Water element places a vital role in how we communicate to the world as we need to have a firm understanding of inner self in order to express ourselves clearly to the outside world.

Through the practice of Yin, we will release stagnant energies in the body, removing obstructions to energy flow and allow for equilibrium and harmony,  blending the ancient wisdoms of TCM and Yogic science, while moving with the natural rhythms of the planet.

This 3 hr Yin Yoga workshop, lead by Madeline Diaz Meiners, aims to nurture the element of water and the associated organs, the Kidneys and the Bladder During the 1hr soundbowl Savasana your Yin and qi of the Metal element will be nourished with Acupuncture placed in the ankles, abdomen and hands by qualified acupunturist Larissa.
